K/DA AHRI COSPLAY WHITE TOP TUTORIAL
In this tutorial we’ll take you through making the white top for a K/DA Ahri cosplay. If you haven’t made the bodysuit for the cosplay yet, we recommend checking out the tutorial in our blog.
Tools
Materials
- White scuba fabric
- White and purple thread
- Purple band, 2-3 cm wide
- Gold fabric of your choice
- Needles for pinning
Step 1: Pattern
Put on the black bodysuit if you have it, and cover your upper body in plastic wrap. Draw the pattern and edges of the white top with a marker. The original design has a lot of seams, so remember to check your reference photos carefully so that you mark the correct seams. After marking all the lines, cut out the pieces.
Step 2: Cut and combine
Take your fabric, and use the templates you just made to cut the same pieces in your fabric. I used white scuba fabric for the top. When everything is cut, it will look almost like a puzzle. Combine one piece to another, pin them together and sew. Keep doing this process until the whole top is one piece. If you have used scuba fabric or another stretchy fabric, you don’t need a zipper in the back, you can just slide it over your head. If not, you may have to consider adding a zipper or velcro to take it on and off more smoothly.
Step 3: Purple details
To add the purple detail on top, sew a purple strip by the cleavage. Check your reference to get the right fabric and colour.
Step 4: Fasten the top
To make sure that the bodysuit is tight and won’t fall off, you should make a way to fasten it around your neck for security. Sew a strip in the same fabric as the bodysuit, with 2-3 cm (app. 1") in width.
When you are wearing the bodysuit, fasten the strip on one side of the top of the suit and pull it around your neck. Fasten it on the other side. Alternatively you can add a buckle or some other fastening mechanism to the back of your neck, but we won’t be covering that in this tutorial.
